Dear mom,
Nothing all that interesting to write about today. Now I'm tired. Isn't my body supposed to think it's only 8:30?
Keep your fingers crossed for a very productive, non-distracted day tomorrow.
Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,
I am totally groggy from reading all day. I am hoping for a day tomorrow that is productive for both of us, and involves moving around a bit more.
We can't get dad's clock on his side of bed to change its time. It is one of those " you don't ever have to set it's time " atomic back-up ones, for when the power goes out, and I guess we are going to have to wait until it is good and ready to change itself because it has a mind of its own. In the meantime, dad has to look at it and add an hour, or lean over to my side of the bed and look at mine..
I stomped on the ice in the chicken yard without making much headway in breaking it up because I had felt sorry for the shut-in chickens. This morning when I opened the door into their pen, the leader went out, touched the ice, said no way, went back up the ramp and no one went outside. Another few warm days should melt things enough for them to see dirt and recognize what they used to do with it, but until then, they are inside their house taking frequent dust baths in the bedding and singing over their eggs. Not a bad life.
I have just finished watching a show about an English couple who has 15 children, and 2 grandchildren, and they just chartered a bus to get all 19 of them to their rented seaside cottage for 2 weeks because their own bus/van ( where 4 kids didn't fit anyway so they didn't replace it) had broken down months before. It has left me exhausted, so I am going to bed. Prior to that, it was a couple with 13 children, a great many of them twins. I think I've had my discovery channel fix for the evening!
If it were a story about puppies I think you would be on your way to the seaside to rent the cabin next door, right?
Love,
mom
