Dear Mom, The windchill this morning in the next town over was -35 degrees.
That is just not right.

Dear Ruth,
You just experienced Calgary Alberta in the winter of 1953. It was -38˚ outside, and -37˚ in our rented garage. This was without the wind chill factored in. The landlord never got around to putting any siding on the garage boards. The garage did keep the snow off our one car, but that was about it. Your grandfather had his tires freeze flat in the Yukon Territory, where it was -60˚. You would have to drive for miles with a major bump every revolution until they thawed out from friction.
I gathered the eggs early today so I could catch them before they cracked open.
It is awfully cold here, too. Don't think it is as cold as your wind chill, tho.
I've been drinking hot ginger tea. Ron had a cup too, to fortify his journey.
You need lots of warm love to counterbalance the weather. I'm sending a hug via Ron. The rest is up to him.
