Dear Ruth,
Don't know where your spring cleaning is taking you, whether studio space or house, but I finally vacuumed the downstairs by simply walking like a zombie to the hall closet, getting the vacuum out, and doing it. There is still all the dusting to do, and lots of scrubbing needed for woodwork, kitchen cabinet doors, fingerprints and smears, but at least when I am walking around to do that, I won't crunch. It took most of winter to do all the closets and the cellar, so at least I don't have those jobs waiting. With John's addition of his 3rd snowmobile to our garage, the big job waiting is the re-do there.
Yesterday I finished pruning the small orchard. And I took some pictures, one of which will go to Ron for his birthday ( don't tell). After he gets it, I will email you some others. They were inspired by you--- I saw the rock while pruning, it was too beautiful, so I had to stop and go get the camera, mid-prune.
The cats were fascinated by this new game of me sitting on a 5 gallon tub in a crust of snow with feet spread apart, and so they did their best to check out legs, boots, camera strap, camera lens, and then they sat right on the spot I was aiming for. ( ROCK! MINE!!) and at that point I got a bit cranky myself. But I got a few good shots after all, and those 5 trees are done, so that was fine. I only have 10 more trees to go...
If it makes you feel any better, today dad and I are doing taxes. Giant yuk. Always dispiriting to learn how much money my farming has lost. How can a life's work be accessed monetarily in the negative, year after year, when the results are so positive? Good thing I have a superiority complex or I could take it personally.
Happy cleaning. Don't forget to floss ( that would be the dentist's term for getting those hard to reach places, like behind the couch and in back of the toilet). Think of it as placque prevention.
