Dear Mom,
Your images are amazing. I am glad you risked llife and limb and camera to take those. It's especially amazing to see how the ice fizzured and made patterns on the inside. It's really phenomenal.

On a side note, I heard back from another boutique, this one in Milwaukee Wisconsin. (!)

It finally stopped snowing, but it's pretty blowy. Today we almost had to make a trip in to Rochester for supplies for Ron's class, but then he found a local alternative, and I know it was better not to drive during the last few hours of the snow storm, but I was kinda sad. I was looking forward to a change of scenery, even though I know time is better spent in my studio. So that's what I did today, and Ron finished one of the pieces for his show.

Good night.
Love, Ruth

Dear Ruth,
I'm glad you liked the images. I went out a second time ( for that 2nd batch I sent you) with the tripod because I realized my ungloved hands were shaking too much after 15 minutes of exposure, and I really wanted to show those internal fissures. The ice stayed on those branches all day... if I went out now they would be showing sun sparkle... yesterday it was overcast all day.

It snowed a little last night, and I need to make a decision pretty quick on whether to go down to Nema's for the day. Our driveway is a sheet of ice under the snow, and the road is semi-covered. I don't want to be driving home when the temps are dropping again, and the roads get icy. Yuk! I hate having to guess road conditions! I could spend the night, but dad has an appointment set up for the car check up at 8 a.m.

Great that you heard back from another shop! Things are picking up!! Sending out the catalog was a great idea.

You and Karen, longing to get away for a change of scene ( K said she took a trip in her head yesterday while weeding the yard, since she is home with C recovering) and me dreading a drive... we need to shake us all up and give you guys a bit of a trip and me a shorter drive! That would work!

Love,

mom
