Dear Mom, I checked on the garden today, and so far, we've got a good showing from the radishes and the broccoli rabe. It's the Ron Garden.

Dear Ruth,
The Ron has good taste. I've always felt the sour/bitter taste buds never get the attention they deserve.
My arugula is up good, and the mesclun greens. So are carrots, peas, lettuces, onions, spinachs. mmmm. If only my enthusiasm will continue for the duration of the growing season. Sometimes I'm side-swiped by the heat, and can stand there dripping sweat without lifting a finger and wonder, who planted this garden??! Did she have any idea of the work involved???
Then Gracie comes and lies down amid the garlic spears, and I think, this year I will be strong and persevere through the heat. Maybe I will lie down in the garlic too.
You are going to eat very well from your own garden.... mmm.
