Dear Mom,
Hi. Nothing much to report. Noemi's in her afternoon meeting, and this morning's meeting went really well. I think tonight after work I'm going to try to run to Joann Fabrics and pick up some of those SUPERSALE patterns.
I am glad Jack is so happy with you.
i guess that's it for now. more later.
Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,
Jack loves us so much his drool juice is working overtime.
I started the sweater for Nolan, using the Beth Reisal Brown boy pattern in the book even tho it doesn't have the features she teaches us in the sample sweater( what the???). I checked my other books for a gansey pattern, and nada. Eventually I will write one up, using the split garter rib--- it wouldn't have been hard to do for this one but for some reason it just seemed too much math activity for me!
So there I am, having knitted up a couple of inches, counted 148st a million times because I didn't increase all 20 st in the first row after ribbing ended ( I was 5 short, and it would have been so much easier to have done the split rib and only have to count half as many stitches at a time) and it is nearing 8:30 and Jack knew it, so he came over, got into my lap, and put his head on my knitting. I asked him if he did that to Ruth? and he said, Sure. Especially at feeding time. Then he looked away and got a cool dreamy look and then slowly took a little nibble of the bread-tie bobble holding the tag of yarn at beginning of piece. A little drool happened. It didn't taste good enough to warrant drool. By then I got up to feed him because his paws are about 2000lbs pressure per inch on my upper thighs. Yikes. What a bony maronee. But a good boy, nonetheless. He likes a hot dry hand giving him a face rub--- prefers it in one direction only, please. And don't squeeze to hard when mushing past my ears. He is a very sculptural cat, with features so strong and ancient. Neon eyes of yellow green. The rest of him disappears in the dark.
Did you or Ron get any poison ivy on your arms or feet/legs? I hope not. I have one spot on my wrist.
Hope you are having a fun time at the lake today! And I hope Ron got all the painting done, at least the first coat.
Love, mom
