Dear Mom,
Well, last night the weather cleared enough fo rme to go out and watch the stars at 1am. I set my alarm for 2:30, as the peak was supposed to be at 2, but I wasn't really sleeping so when I woke up and checked the clock I just went out. I saw a few shooting stars, not too many more than Ron and I had seen the night before, but one that was crazy bright. That was pretty cool. Tonight it is so clear out--the foggy arm of the milky way is perfectly visible, and we saw a few more shooting stars. If all the stars are bits of dust, then the entire world's has all been sweeped into a pile right above our house, waiting for the dustpan.

Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,

Since this house is waiting for the dustpan too, I feel the stellar forces are nearby...actually, mine are at ground level. Loved your description.

I hope you see more activity tonight. I remember the last time I wached a big meteor shower. The whole sky was jiggling. It was amazing. I went back to bed and thought about being under all that stardust, sifting down upon the roof....

Love, mom
