Dear Mom,
I don't have the camera today, but my box of three pounds of fleece came today. YAY!

It is very rainy here today, and it better not take all the leaves off the trees or I will be very upset. When I drove back from CT ron said the news claimed that weekend was the peak of colors, but I assure you, I drove through the whole state, and it was still green. No longer. Now the hills are on fire, with hot pinks and bright yellows and greens and all shades in between. And again, I don't have the camera.

Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,

I felt the same way as we drove up to Putnam for lunch. Flaming gorgeous colors, and no camera with me. I WANT one of those maples whose leaves turn brilliant red in the fall, and I want to plant it where the dead birch was. I think Red Maples turn yellow ( how's that for confusing? more research on that coming up). Seem to remember reading that a while back and thinking they should have named them yellow maples. Anyway, it's rainy here too, and foggy/overcast, and the colors are showing off. I hope it rains hard for the rest of the day---we've been in such a drought.

I take it you didn't get the package from Webs yet? Glad the fleece showed up---man, that was quick!

Love, mom

Dear Mom,
There's a package waiting at the post office--but the webs box was coming UPS, right? Ron is going to try to make it there before they close--otherwise they have to hold it til Wednesday, and that will make our already very cranky postal workers very very upset. (With the camera, Ron also took my car today.)
Love,
Ruth
