Dear Mom, Thanks for having me, 33 years ago, even though it was blizzarding. I appreciate it. Love, Ruth

Dear Ruth,
I never have to say " In the old days we walked miles to school through the snow!" Having you in a blizzard was the best snowstorm I'd ever been in.
They had put a thermal shirt on you, something they were trying out on all the hospital babies to regulate their temps, ( it looked like it was made of tinfoil ), and then you ran a temp, and I said "why not take the tinfoil off her? She is over 9 lbs!" They did, and your fever went away. I felt like a smart mama, but it was probably that the research doc who ran the tinfoil shirt trial didn't have all the bugs out of his theory yet.
Now, here's what you have to do: stay warm. Or you'll wreck MY theory. And use plenty of wool. It's better than tinfoil.
