Dear Mom,
I'm back on the wagon! Saturday I went to my first ever spinning group, which was sort of humbling because not only have I not spun in front of strangers before, I haven't spun since last fall. And, man, was it tricky getting started again! But progress was made: yarn just needing to be plied, and a new friend named Molly.

Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,
That yarn looks mmmmmm-good. Great job. Ultimately it is like swimming, riding a bike or milking a goat. The synapse connections are still there, the brain just says " Hey! Wait a second here while I warm up those atrophied parts!"

My new spinning wheel stares me in the face every time I walk past the studio door. Perhaps I should move it to the back part of studio. Beginning to haunt me. So good for you, spinning in the heat of summer....

Glad you've made a new friend. You are back on the wagon with a foot in the door. How's that for mixed platitudes?

Love, mom
