Dear Mom, But if the country is currently being run by a jackass, I think that perhaps going to the dogs would be an improvement. I think Skidboot would have done a good job running the country, and he would have liked having A Chicken in Every Pot.
I had forgotten about Skidboot. He would be a better Pres. He can count. He would have been down in New Orleans on day 2 of Katrina, before the wind had even stopped blowing.
The chickens here would prefer you didn't mention the cooking pot. They get a bit nervous just having me look at them too closely during this time of molt. In the old flock, only 2 of 12 are laying now, so the odds aren't in their favor. Fortunately, they aren't obsessed by the future, only about each day of hot mash and the last of the tomatoes. You have to admire their dedication to living each day to the fullest.
