Dear Mom,
Although the communications from Chez Zelambert have been sparse, there has been a lot of hub-bub. Besides traveling a lot, Ron decided it was high time to renovate. So while I was in San Fransisco in May, Ron demolished the kitchen.

He first took off the counter top and removed the sink.

And he fixed the plumbing.

And since the backsplash was plaster made to look like tile, he took that out too.

More tomorrow.
Love,
Ruth

Dear Ruth,

Are you still without a kitchen, or is there going to be a happy ending to this renovation blog series???

Do not leave your mother hanging!

Actually, the plumbing looks very nice. It is good to be thorough.

Speaking of thorough, the chicken doors on the duplex still work just fine, and I think of Ron every time I open and close them. I think about him a lot this time of year as I am constantly second guessing the weather--- leave them open tonight or close them?? The same thing happens in the fall...

Looking forward to seeing the kitchen tomorrow!

Love, mom
