You know what the newscasters out here call the daily snow that doesn't accumulate much?
Nuisance Snow.
Ron thinks that's a misnomer, as it's not much of a problem if it isn't accumulating.

Took a walk through the woods today and work a lot in the studio. Now I'm pretty tired. Not much else to report, except the Nuisance Snow has started up again.

Dear Ruth,
Courtney misspelled nuisance recently, and it came out nuidance. We were emailing about getting old and whiney, so I thought she had made up some new word that old folks could use--- like " come to the nuidance at the senior center " only they would get really cute and call it the newdance for the oldies. Funny about the nuisance snow. It could be nuidance too, since it is not accumulating, and therefore not a nuisance at all. Just a little snow, dancing around.
And your image--- gosh, we seem to be pete and repete today. Looks just like the cluster of peeling paint I vacuumed off the ceiling of the storage closet in my studio. I was very unhappy to find so much peeling paint, because it may mean the tub upstairs is leaking again; I got the ladder and tried to vacuum the chips off the ceiling, the hose wouldn't reach, and the chips refused to get sucked up without flying around first. I was mighty tired of cleaning by the time I got all those flakes picked up. It was 3 hours past time to stop for lunch when I discovered them. Always the way.
I like your flakes growing on trees so much better. No one is required to take them off the tree branch, and no one is worrying about their plumbing when viewing them. I think they make fine winter flowers.
Thanks for their surprising beauty today.
Love,
mom
