Dear Mom,
I don't know if it was the jog, or the hike, but hell, I hurt today. Okay, not so bad, but it's kind of funny to know exactly what is going to get in shape if I can keep it up. Mainly my back muscles and the inside of my thighs. Too bad my cankles aren't sore.

Dear Ruth,

I think it is necessary to do stretching before running on the treadmill. Did you do that? It helps the muscles get ready for the big deal.

Try a little hair of the dog today, so to speak. Move around. And practice standing up really straight. You spend so much time bent over when you are working in your studio. It causes flaccid back syndrome.

I just made that up. ( you could tell, I know!)

Your cankles are just fine. Strong enough to endure the new regime. Always good to have strong body parts.
