Sometimes the bumpy road is the one you want to be on.

In an effort to have a project that I can work on without concentrating so hard, I am using the recycled wool to knit the Origami Cardigan from Interweave Knits. The sleeve so far:

The peach cobbler I made last night was good, but during baking, the peaches shrank and the biscuit got big. I got teased for not using enough peaches, but I swear, I peeled and sliced at least 75 or 80. :) It still tasted good. I still have enough peaches to keep trying and refining my baking skills.

Ruth

Dear Ruth,
Loved the postings. I saw that sweater too, and liked everything about it except the deadly dagger holding it together. Bend over too quickly and you would stab your liver or pop a lung. Can you invent some closure pin that wouldn't do that?
I love the texture of your bumpies. And that they came from the recycled sweater. Great color too. Such a rich gray.
Laughed over your peach cobbler. Wouldn't have imagined such shrinkage, so thanks for picture, as those peaches nearly disappeared; make me laugh out loud. I am faced with a day of canning peaches, and man, I sure could use some help with the peeling. It does take forever to peel enough for a cobbler, or a canning load. At least when I give you some jars, you'll know what went into getting those peaches in there. ( you can make cobbler from the canned ones, too).
I am reading a library book, Knitting, by Anne Bartlett. It's a novel, characters odd but real, very good, and makes you want to knit while reading it. I limit myself to reading only.
I picked grapes this morning. What with apples, peaches, tomatoes and now grapes, not to mention garlic and onions in the mud room, the kitchen and dining room are as full as Big Y.
Off to peel.
Love,
mom
