Dear Mom,
Then the next day, Ron put up greyboard and framed the new counter.

Then he added rebar. You know a project is good when it needs rebar.

His boss came over and spent four hours with him pouring the concrete.

That's right, cast concrete. He wanted to learn how to do it so he could utilize the knowledge in future sculptures, so rather than doing a small piece of practice art, he made the focal piece of the kitchen.

Ruth

Dear Ruth,

I am sooooo impressed. Besides being complex, it just looks overwhelming, like when you take apart a closet to replace the floor inside it, and you find a hole in its ceiling you never knew was in there, and can't even sit in a chair to figure out what to do next because all the stuff from the closet is piled on all the chairs.

I am really looking forward to the next installment, and I am so glad that Ron used the kitchen as a
3-D learning experience! It's going to be awesome!!! Good sculpture is really fun to live with, especially when it is plumb, and can be touched every day.

Love, mom
