dear mom,
went to rochester today, and did about 400% more driving than we should have getting all sorts of turned around going from one suburb to another. you feel like they should connect, and sometimes they do, but to complicate matters, there are three highways that you need to be on at some point 390, 490 and 590, and I think their north/south/east/wests are all mixed up too. it was so warm that we were down to just tee-shirts.

got the box out to relish at home (in berkeley) this morning, so that's good.

have to go to bed--ron's truck has to be in hornell at the car doctor's at 8 am tomorrow.

love ruth

Dear Ruth,

I know it's ridiculous, but in my mind's eye all towns that I haven't been in are visualized as having one short main street, with a few side roads off of it. I am surprised to hear about Rochester's many arteries. I was surprised by Niagara Falls, too. You'd think that someone who had traveled a lot in her early years, had seen or driven through thousands of towns, would have a more realistic mind's eye.

I have spent a great deal of time being surprised by a lot of things. I think my mind's eye is often
" elsewhere". That would explain a lot of behavior.

Happy over Relish. Let me know when any of your things are posted online. Congratulations on the success of recent searchings for boutiques.

Today is wide open for activities, but it looks like the floor is screaming " dirty!". We all know the outcome of the squeaky wheel. It's been yelling for quite awhile, but I do believe the pitch is now up so high the neighborhood dogs will be arriving soon.

It's either vacuum, or prune. And the snow is still under the trees....

Hope you have a good day and the truck behaves at its check-up.

Love, mom
